The Serralves Foundation's programme for this year has many interesting elements, notably the exhibition by the North American Alexander Calder (1898-1976), in the Serralves Park and at the Villa, between June and December. An exhibition based on the creative friendship that existed between Calder and Miró and only possible by negotiating with the Centre Pompidou, in Paris.

A large part of that museum's collection is by Calder, which rarely left the French institution, will be presented in Porto, with the title "Uma Linha em Equilíbrio".

Another of the highlights for this year is the exhibition designed by Dan Graham about architecture, on display between October and April 2024. The artist even managed to prepare the exhibition before he died last year, bringing together the work of eight architects he considered particularly significant: Atelier Bow Wow, Lina Bo Bardi, Itzuko Hasegawa, Anne Tyng, Johannes Duiker, Sverre Fehn, Kazuo Shinohara and João Batista Vilanova Atrigas.

The programme for this year begins with the first retrospective exhibition by the Portuguese artist Carla Filipe, in March. It will also host exhibitions by the duo Allora & Calzadilla, based in Puerto Rico, in the United States, in addition to exhibitions by the Portuguese photographer António Júlio Duarte, the Canadian Kapwani Kiwanga, the Indian Dayanita Singh and the Colombian Oscar Murillo, with his project "Frequencies".

In the performing arts, Serralves - which this year marks the centenary of the Park - continues to host the Vera Mantero cycle, a collaborative project between CAConrad, Odete and Caty Olive, as well as a tribute to Mika Vainio, among other initiatives.
