Queijo da serra (cheese), a selection of cured and fresh sausages, an extensive range of dried and crystalized fruits (priced by weight) and an array of regional wines and biscuits are the typical fare of one of the oldest shops in the city. The front of the store is made up of Art Nouveau and is covered with tiles depicting the spices routes. Unique space, marked by an historical identity is currently one of the most visited, photographed and advertised establishments in the city.

Café Majestic
Founded in 1921, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and representative examples of Art Nouveau in Porto exuding an atmosphere of luxury, refinement and well-being. Its inherent beauty and its importance in the life of the city of Porto have deservedly led it to be classified as a building of public interest in 1983 and as a cultural heritage site thus allowing a full renovation programme to be undertaken culminating in its reopening in 1994, inviting customers to relive the fascinating Belle Époque. In J.K Rowling’s biography, written by Sean Smith, it said that when the writer was living in Porto she used to spend quite a long time at the Majestic, working on the first book of “Harry Potter”. The Majestic, according to a testimony from a client, would also be the favourite spot of Kubitshek, former president of Brazil.
Marcolino Relojoeiro
This watchmaker’s is one of the most iconic of Porto. It opened its doors in 1926 in the heart of the city. The imposing Art Nouveau façade building showcases collections of luxury watch brands and unique pieces of international jewellery in a sophisticated setting sought-after by collectors.
Armazém de Lanifícios
Shop founded in 1926, it moved in 1958 to its current location, on the first floor of an imposing building, without shop windows to Rua de Passos Manuel. Being a tough specialist in selling wool products, this activity gives it some exclusivity.
