Centenarian House, founded in 1896.
When it opened its doors, that morning it received some of the wealthiest people in Porto who had stopped there to have breakfast before visiting the Bolhão Market.
During this time, the establishment maintained its features, structures and original colours, having just introduced functionality details.
Today you can find a bakery and pastry shop with homemade goods, (frequently throughout the day), a customer service room, (where you are happily received) and in the other floor, a restaurant with menu service and daily menus.

The Bazar Paris, in Porto, was founded in 1903 and is dedicated to a vast set of traditional toys, such as dolls, soft toys, educational toys, trains and scale modelling, car tracks, modelling, car models, music boxes, Lego, backpacks, etc.
Throughout the year, we also sell Carnival items; theme parties, such as: birthday, Halloween, Easter, popular saints and Christmas...
Armazém dos Linhos
It opened its doors to the public in 1905 as a tailor’s shop and, since the 1950s, has been dedicated to the reproduction of printed fabrics with traditional Portuguese designs. Over the years it has been recovering old patterns and introducing new ones to meet the expectations of different publics, in a balance between tradition and innovation.
Sá da Bandeira Theatre
The Teatro Sá da Bandeira is closed in order to prevent the Covid-19 outbreak.
Building that opened in 1877 but became known as Teatro Sá da Bandeira in 1910.
Being that it’s a theatre for everyone, it’s always shown great variety in its program of events. Meeting the tastes of the people of Porto, it varies its shows and combines diverse theatrical and musical styles.
On performance days, the ticket office is open until 10 pm.
Costa Braga & Filhos Lda
This firm has a history of over 150 years. It was in the mid-nineteenth century, in 1866, that began its activity, having later moved to the current address. Dedicated to the manufacture of hats and other uniform accessories for security and public order institutions. It has gained a high industrial prestige and public recognition by personalities and institutions.
Machado Joalheiro
This jewellers’ shop was founded in 1880 and is a Listed Building (Imóvel de Interesse Público). It sells luxury pieces by prestigious brands and its own collections of jewellery, combining modernity and tradition. It is a family business that has passed on values and traditions from generation to generation.
Gazela Cachorrinhos da Batalha
This restaurant opened in 1962 and is featured in various gastronomic guides. Its main attraction is the famous hot dog, which take domestic and foreign customers to queue at the door to taste this delicacy. This beer hall has always been renowned but reached an even bigger visibility when it was featured in one of Chef Anthony Bourdain's tv shows.

Casa Crocodilo
Since 1960 this house has been dedicated to selling soles and uppers, being a reference of the region in this market. It is an icon of the city that owes its name to the embalmed five-meter crocodile from Brazil that has been hanging from its ceiling. This commercial establishment represents the preservation of a traditional business without the loss of identity.
Confeitaria Serrana
Tucked away on Rua do Loureiro, its homemade pastries at the shop window will leave you wide eyed with amazement.
And inside there are more wonders- on the ceiling there is a painting by famous Portuguese painter, Acácio Lino. The building was designed by Francisco Oliveira Ferreira, pupil of Marques da Silva. The solid iron staircase takes you up to a set of sculptures on the first floor that are signed by the architect´s brother, José de Oliveira Ferreira.
It is a must-go place for tasting bolas de Berlim, which are famous for its quality and generous size, but also for tourists who like to discover the charms beyond its facade.
Casa Soleiro
It was founded in 1947. Throughout its history it has been a shop where are sold quality products to repair shoes and leather goods. This business supplies many shoe repairers in the city and works with shoe factories.
O Cafézeiro
It is a traditional wholesale and bulk grocery shop. Opened in 1945, this house is renowned for its teas, coffees, fine grocery and intoxicating aromas. Entering this space is a true time travel because it has preserved its traditional trade and genuine identity.
