About
The Nuno Grande Anatomy Museum, part of the Department of Anatomy of the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) and integrated into the University of Porto Museum Network, invites visitors to discover the complexity and beauty of the human and animal body.
In this space, visitors can explore a collection of anatomical specimens carefully prepared by the department’s professors and technicians, illustrating different systems and structures. The permanent exhibition also includes artistic works by students from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, inspired by the anatomical collections and promoting a dialogue between science and art.
The museum is open to the public on weekdays from 9am to 5pm and can be visited independently or through guided tours (upon prior booking via email: museuanatomia@icbas.up.pt
). Guided tours are conducted in Portuguese. Access may, however, be limited due to academic activities, as the museum’s primary mission is to support the teaching of Anatomy at ICBAS.
Animals are not permitted, except for guide dogs. The museum is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
