About

Built within the event “Porto 2001 – European Capital of Culture”, the “Transparent Building” opened in June 2007. His author, the Catalan architect Solà-Morales, designates it a container building, an urban-meaning space, offering light to the city. It was later recovered by the Portuguese architect Carlos Prata, now offering a set of commercial spots dedicated to leisure, entertainment and culture, restaurants, sports shops (surf and cycling), among others. The Transparent Building seeks to be a link between the City Park and the sea, displaying vanguard and innovative traces and transparent walls.
