About

Casa da Prelada – D. Francisco de Noronha e Menezes

Situated in the parish of Ramalde, Casa da Prelada and the surrounding garden, where one of the largest labyrinths of the Iberian Peninsula is located, are part of the largest landscape complex designed by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni - Quinta da Prelada. Until the early 20th century, the Casa and Quinta da Prelada belonged to the Noronha e Menezes family. In 1903, the last owner, D. Francisco de Noronha e Menezes, donated the property to Misericórdia do Porto. After deep refurbishment works have been carried out, the Casa is now a cultural space where the Historical Archive of Santa Casa da Misericórdia and a library stand out, both are open to the public.

Access to the gardens for people with reduced mobility is possible although not in the entire space.
