About

The buildings that flank Rua da Galeria de Paris, which first opened in 1903, have elegant and graceful lines, particularly number 28, built in the art nouveau style. During the second half of the 20th century, cloth warehouses took up most of the building space in the street. From being a relatively uninhabited part of downtown Porto, Rua da Galeria de Paris quickly changed into what has become known as one of the liveliest parts of Porto. It all began in 2007, with the opening of a bar in an old bookshop. The variety of events on offer, particular the jazz concerts, soon triggered the appearance of other venues. Together, these have turned the area into a high point of evening entertainment in Porto, particularly at the weekends.
