About

The Museum of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto was founded in 1825. It has a significant collection of hundreds of anatomic pieces – some of them are more than a hundred years old – distributed over several rooms. Beginning with the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system, passing through anatomic preparations of the various organ systems of the human body, and it is worth noting the demonstrations of anatomic variations. There are rooms dedicated to Teratology, Comparative Anatomy and, finally, to the skeletal system, where several skeletons and a collection of human skulls are exposed.
