Founded in 1836, the Academy of Fine Arts has kept a policy of awarding scholarships abroad to the best students, who traditionally went to Paris and Rome and often sent examples of their work which are, to this day, preserved in the Museum of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FBAUP). Currently, the student exchange between European institutions and FBAUP is intense and is still growing in terms of student mobility and teachers exchange programs. The academic offering includes degrees, specialization courses, master’s degrees, doctor’s degrees and different types of training courses.
