About

Cultural association dedicated to animation film, born in 2001 with the support of Porto 2001 - European Capital of Culture.

It regularly holds movie screenings, develops training activities, exhibitions, conferences and meetings, and hosts various cultural initiatives.

One of its programmatic focuses is organising the Festa Mundial da Animação (World Animation Festival), an annual event that emerges as a celebration of International Animation Day, celebrated on October 28th. It is an international event that, in Portugal, has been celebrated by Casa da Animação since 2001 and in a travelling format, since 2013 when the Prémio Nacional da Animação (National Animation Award) joined this event.
