The Bank of Materials is installed in the Palace of the Viscounts of Balsemão, with a new concept of visitable reserve, showing the public the various aspects aimed at safeguarding the City characterizing materials of such as tiles, plaster, iron, etc.

In this sense, the general public can enjoy the exhibition of various decorative and constructive pieces that integrate, very expressively, the Porto architecture, differentiating it. The Bank of Materials collects materials from degraded buildings, to be demolished or altered, in order to make them available free of charge for the recovery of the facades missing some elements of the same type. Thus, the Bank of Materials, promotes the maintenance of the urban image of Porto.

The guided tour to the venue is free but advance booking is required.
