It was in April 1974 that the Porto Centre for the Portuguese Institute of Oncology Francisco Gentil began its operations.
It has distinguished itself over the years by the dynamism and leading role in the quality with which it receives and treats patients, by the highly credible scientific activity that it develops and the quality of teaching carried out in oncology.
Through the prestige that it has gained, it now has a European and International dimension, and is an active member of the European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer.
