About
The Colher (Spoon) Fountain owes its name to the tax on goods paid to the bishop of Porto, also known as “colher (spoon)”.
This fountain is adjoined to the last house in the street of Miragaia and is supposed to be one of the oldest as revealed by the inscription on the granite front, dated from 1629.
It consists of a single spout of which its water was believed to be some of the best in the city.
