Officially opened in October 1962, the first patients were only admitted in January 1970.
A Psychiatric Hospital, clearly focusing on the full social integration of individuals with mental illnesses, it develops liaison activities with the Healthcare Centres and General Hospitals, as well as with the social security, public and private entities, local authorities and health care structures, currently promoting several proactive initiatives for Residential Units and Social Employment for patients with poor family, social and professional backgrounds.
