About

As part of the Decree of the 3rd of May 1911, the Republican National Guard was formed. It is a Security Force made up of soldiers that form a special body of troops and are spread out, with administrative autonomy. They have jurisdiction over all national territory as well as national waters.
In Porto, their barracks are located next to the Church of Carmelitas Descalços.
