The situation in Portugal and Spain is the main focal point of interest in this gallery which was founded in 1994. It collects and exhibits a rich and evocative collection of works of art of various periods between the end of the XIX century and today.
The programme includes individual and group exhibitions and has three main areas: presenting works by renowned artists from the First Modernist Generation, including the classics; monitoring and showcasing the production of emblematic authors from the denominated "School of Porto"; promoting, presenting and publishing works from some of the artists who best symbolise Portuguese contemporary art.
