The Porto Planetarium – Living Science Centre – is charged with promoting a culture of science and technology by bringing children, young people and adults into contact with science and encouraging them to take a critical look at the world, undertake informed discussion and actively participate in the future. Astronomy and the technologies associated with it are in much evidence at the planetarium. In June 2015, the planetarium reopened with a digital projection system enabling visitors to enjoy the unique characteristics of immersive films and to experience virtual journeys through the cosmos.
