About

Café Embaixador opened its doors in 1957 and became, from then on, a reference in the city centre of Porto. It holds the status of Small and Medium Enterprise (PME) Leader 2018, conferred by Turismo de Portugal, regarding quality, risk profile and contribution to the national economy. It was recently declared as a Loja Histórica (Historic Shop) by Porto City Hall. Located right in Rua Sampaio Bruno, almost around the corner of Praça da Liberdade and Avenida dos Aliados, it is a pit stop whether to have a coffee, a quick long white coffee and a piece of toast or a meal. The Francesinhas, Bacalhau à Embaixador (Embaixador-style Codfish) and Tripas à Moda do Porto (Porto-Style Tripes) are enjoyed by the Portuguese and tourists who come here, guided by well-known international tourist agents. Situated in the city centre area, it is a traditional café with the typical atmosphere of the 1960's. The venue is large and pleasant.
