When she emerged in 1999 with the much applauded “On How Life Is”, Macy Gray made an immediate impact. Thanks to the tremendous success of "I Try," which broke into the US Top 5, the Ohio-born singer's debut album sold around 7 million copies worldwide, making her almost instantly a global star.

Over the next decade, the albums followed one after another and Macy built a solid discography with 10 albums, regularly playing on stages and festivals around the world. At the same time, her strong image earned her an equally applauded career in cinema, starting in 2001 with "Training Day", a film with Denzel Washington. She then made her iconic presence felt in other blockbusters like "Spider Man", "For Colored Girls" and "The Paperboy". Recognition for her wide-ranging talents also came via the Grammys: she was nominated a dozen times and won a statuette for best vocal performance with the extraordinary "I Try".

Now, Macy Gray is in a new phase of her career. Along with keyboardist Billy Wes, drummer Tamir Barzilay and bassist Alex Kyhn, a trio of prodigious musicians and all multi-instrumentalists with careers that moved from pop and country to jazz and punk, Macy formed California Jet Club, the group who released the fantastic “The Reset”.

The group has already performed on high audience ratings tv shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and has made it clear that it is ready for the world: music with a solid soul-R&B foundation, open to several other sounds (the group even made a version of the “Cop Killer” classic by Ice-T's Body Count) with lyrics that reflect on modern America. Accustomed to the stages and always distinguishing herself as a solid live performer, Macy Gray now lands her California Jet Club at the Coliseu Porto Ageas, for a brilliant and unmissable debut in which, to the new sound of her present, she will add her greatest classics.
