About

In a nation ravaged by civil war, a dubious peace declaration — which suggests putting democracy on hold for six months — is signed, bringing two very different leaders to power. It's up to these rulers to escape fates like those of Troy, riding across space swamped with inner and outer wraiths as they try their best and their worst to take the reins. Meanwhile, a familiar, silent enemy pierces them from their heels to theirs hearts, like an arrow of the gods that knows no limits. “Como perder um país” (How to Lose a Country) is the second spectacle of the series “Democracia e os Filhos dos Anos 90” (Democracy and the Children from the 1990s) by Momento – Artistas Independentes. After “Democracy Has Been Detected”, which focused on the influence of artificial intelligence technology on democracy, this project focuses on the potential of manipulation, power and populist discourse.
