Delírio Concertante

About
Orquestra Barroca and Orquestra Sinfónica celebrate one of the most important instrumental genres of the Baroque period: the concerto grosso. From Italy comes the music of Arcangelo Corelli, responsible for raising this form to its maximum perfection, as well as others who were in charge of spreading the Corellian model throughout Europe, thus the programme includes the scores of one of their songs by one of his disciples, Francesco Geminiani, and even by his British admirer Charles Warningn. The concert features an award-winning cellist, Pieter Wispelwey, who, together with the Orquestra Sinfónica, will perform one of the most important works in the instrument's repertoire: a Haydn concerto rediscovered in the mid-1960s.
