Over the course of a week, Casa da Música hosts the eliminatory rounds of the 23rd Santa Cecília International Competition, becoming the piano capital for dozens of pianists from all over the world. The three finalists will perform a work from the concertante repertoire and will be accompanied by the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa under the direction of conductor Osvaldo Ferreira. The concert includes an awards ceremony, during which the winner will be announced.
