Dançar em tempo de guerra (Dancing During Wartime) brings together two works by two seminal choreographers from the 20th century, Martha Graham and Kurt Jooss. Chronicle and The Green Table, both created in the 1930s, mirror the concerns of their authors on the idea of war. While Jooss works based on the consequences of World War I, Graham describes the tragic social and human implications, that reflect the circumstances of the time. The Green Table was last performed by Companhia Nacional de Bailado in 1987, and now returns to the stage together with Chronicle, by Martha Graham, a choreographer who was added to the company's repertoire with this piece, in March 2020.
