F ... stems from the will to question the place of women in contemporary artistic creation and in Art History. Taking as inspiration Womanhouse (1972), by Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro, my intention is to create a kind of womanplay and, to this end, I challenged Patrícia da Silva, Paula Sá Nogueira and Sónia Baptista so we can build a space where we can breathe and stage what we are without restraint. And do so for a simple reason: because we exist. There is an urgent need to reflect upon the space that we, women, occupy, since there is a relevant number of female creators, but who do not always get the rightful visibility. I know that doing this performance will not be overcome the disparity, but the gesture of doing it, regardless of what it will say, is predominantly and actively political. - Cátia Pinheiro (Estrutura)
