Recife, 1978. Clécio Wanderley (Irandhir Santos) is the leader of the provocative and daring theatrical troupe Chão de Estrelas. The main star of the team is Paulete (Rodrigo Garcia), with whom Clécio maintains a relationship. One day, Paulete receives a visit from his brother-in-law, youg Fininha (Jesuíta Barbosa), who is in the military. Enchanted by the universe created by Chão de Estrelas, the soldier is attracted to Clério. However, as his contact with the troupe intensifies, there is also a fear that someone in the army will discover his sexual orientation.
