On August 6th premieres, Fellini's most popular film, La Dolce Vita, and kicks off the cinema sessions dedicated to Fellini, by Medeia Filmes, at Teatro Municipal Campo Alegre, which runs until September 10th.

It is said that Federico Fellini, considered one of the most important filmmakers of the 20th century, was based on his own experience. About the time he spent in Rome, where he started working as a journalist, to describe the daily lives of celebrities and to direct “Dolce Vita”, his most popular movie of all time.

La Dolce Vita shows the lives of the stars and celebrities, rich and glamorous, that parade across Rome. Through the eyes of the gossip journalist, played by Marcello Mastroianni, we get to know the culture of stardom up close.

This film, which will always be associated with the iconic scene of Swedish actress Anita Ekberg at the Fontana di Trevi, was awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and received four Oscar nominations, among the categories of Best Director and Best Screenplay and won the statuette for Best Costume Design.
