Despite being only 22 years old, the young fado singer Valéria Carvalho has been recognised with awards and collaborations, including the first prize in the Amália Rodrigues Fado Competition (Fundão, 2014). She recorded the song “Algema” for the band Allamedah and featured in the homage album Arlindo Carvalho - Soalheira canta Arlindo Carvalho, released in 2019. She was featured as a vocalist in the album Retrato by Ricardo Gordo (2019). She has performed in countries like Tunisia, France, London, Canada, and Brazil.
