On 15 April 2005, Casa da Música was officially opened. The building, which was out of tune with the city, was regarded with suspicion by some and enthusiasm by others. It was surprising for the architecture’s irreverence and embodied, from the start, the ambition and international dimension of the artistic, cultural and social project it received. It welcomed artists, composers, conductors, musicians, performers and all the professionals needed to take the sublime art of music to the stage. From the oldest to the most contemporary, from the most popular to the most classical, all music had its stage and its audience. Progressively, Casa da Música has been attracting more and more people, whatever the taste or musical culture, for the simple pleasure that music gives, challenging everyone to listen beyond of what they know. On the day that celebrates its 15th anniversary, Casa da Música prepared a special programme so that, even in confinement, everyone can celebrate, remembering moments lived with us. The date is also celebrated with the launch of a new channel, blog.casadamusica.com. Congratulations to you, too.
