Three Colours: Red by Krzysztof Kieslowski

In this third part of the colour trilogy, Valentine, a young model and student at the University of Geneva, runs over a dog. Fortunately, the dog was only injured, and Valentine sees on his collar the address of its owner, a judge who spies on the telephone conversations of his neighbours.
