About

Formed in 2012 by four young talented percussionists, the Pulsat Percussion Group has excelled in interpreting a diverse repertoire ranging from John Cage and Steve Reich to the current music by Portuguese composers such as Luís Tinoco, Igor Silva, and many others. Nocturne by Hungarian composer Mátyás Wettl, stems from a simple everyday action like turning the light on and off, resulting in a piece that explores sound and visual components simultaneously. Acclaimed for his timbre explorations and multimedia collaborations, Christopher Cerrone was inspired by American poet G. C. Waldrep to write a cycle of songs that seeks to find a balance between two distinct forces, voice and percussion. The programme also includes the world premiere of a work by Daniel Martinho, a young Portuguese composer who has been making a name for himself internationally.
