According to JazzLogical, the concert of Diogo Alexandre was “the best performance at the Festa do Jazz” in 2019, and stood out as a unique drummer and composer. That same year he won the Prémio Jovens Músicos RTP/Antena 2 (Young Musicians Award RTP / Antena 2), and in 2020 he won the Prémio Músico Revelação RTP/Festa do Jazz (Best New Musician Award RTP / Festa do Jazz). His bold way of playing the instrument does not go unnoticed regardless of the musical context. In his group, he seeks to extrapolate his own compositions and subvert the parameters of written and improvised music, with one foot in and the other out, between emptiness and form.
