The first edition of the Granfondo Porto-Gaia will take place on June 28, starting in the city of Porto, at 9 am, and finishing in Vila Nova de Gaia. Participants can choose between three possible distances: the 40-km Minifondo, the 100-km Mediofondo and the 160-km Granfondo.
Entries are now open. In addition to Porto and Gaia, the race will also cover the roads of the municipalities of Gondomar, Penafiel, Castelo de Paiva, Arouca and Santa Maria da Feira.
The race has already confirmed the participation of the Spanish Miguel Indurain, considered one of the greatest cyclists ever, who will have the number 1.
Until retiring from the competition, Miguel Indurain won the Tour de France (1991-1995) five times in a row and the Giro d’Italia twice (1992-1993) and was also an Olympic Individual Time Trial Champion in Atalanta (1996).
