About

They are seven, like the days of Creation. Seven dancers or physical incarnations of an oneirism under control. Seven bodies out of the bitter limbo of an awake, trance-like and conditioned sleep. That of their demiurge is also on stage, Tânia Carvalho, at the piano. The light is called "day" and the darkness "night". "Onironaut" is the name of this play. A name used by travellers who are able to control their dreams, to shape, for themselves, a world of images and senses. Tânia Carvalho is one of them. A creator who invites us, witness to her lucid journey. A clairvoyant. Spectators of those pieces of dream that are sometimes as dark as those of a choreographer who has long sought to force out her nightmares. To twist the darkness’ neck. To strangle the real and the pranks that her spirit plays on her. Tânia Carvalho creates moving, chilling paintings, which jolt like some disturbing dreams from which one comes out confused and shaking. Always inspired. Awakened.
