About

Igor Stravinsky’s choreographic pieces played a crucial role in the evolution of musical languages at concert halls, especially the trilogy created between 1910-1913 for the famous company Ballets Russes. The Firebird was the first of these ballets and, right in its premiere, it achieved a success that lasts to this day, attracting every audience with contagious melodies and brilliant orchestrations. Based on Russian folk tales, it tells a story full of magic. In this commented concert, we will learn not only the narrative behind the piece, but also analyse the score and see, for example, how the composer portrays, by using contrasting sounds, the human aspects and fantastic elements of the libretto.
