Gala Strauss - Strauss Festival Orchestra
Event
About
The most famous tour in Europe.
Inspired by the traditional music event held each year in Vienna, the Great New Year’s Concert, following the success of previous editions, featuring an attractive selection of Strauss's best waltzes, polkas and marches.
The Strauss Festival Orchestra and Strauss Festival Ballet Ensemble will perform well-known pieces by the Austrian musician such as Napoleon, Flower Festival, Klipp Klapp, Emperor's Waltz or Champagne. It will include the most celebrated waltz of all, the magnificent Blue Danube, and the Radetzky March which, by the clapping of the public, usually concludes the evening.
More than five million viewers have watched and hailed the production of the Strauss Festival Orchestra across Europe: at the Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Philarmonie in Berlin, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Gran Teatre del Liceu or Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Teatro Real and Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Coliseu in Lisbon and Coliseu in Porto, etc. The ballet, with stylised choreographies and dreamy garments, restores an essential aspect to those musical compassions designed to accompany the dance.
The concert is one of the culminating moments of Euroconcert's music season, not only for the extraordinary festive atmosphere surrounding this spectacular programme, but also for the huge participation of an audience who year after year eagerly attends the concert to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
A tradition not to be missed!
