La Fura dels Baus is back in Portugal in December with Carmina Burana, an extravagant production to be presented at the Superbock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota.

An exuberant show that combines the power of Carl Orff's music with the flamboyant universe of La Fura dels Baus, theatre company with a 35-year-old history that stands out for its very unique language and aesthetics and thousands of fans around the world.

For Carlus Padrissa, founding member and director of the company, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is probably the most important music piece of the twentieth century. These are poems that praise life, exalt the carnal pleasures and enjoyment of human nature, while criticizing and satirizing the social and moral customs of the time: “La Fura dels Baus created a show with strong scenes, capable of conveying all the poetic emotion of the texts that, despite being more than 800 years old, speak of desire, and take us back to the essence of the human species ... And so, the cycle is completed to begin again.”

Carmina Burana by La Fura dels Baus brings us crane-hung singers, submerged in wine and water, surrounded by fire, live grape harvest, waterfalls, special effects, video projections and floral fragrances that take the audiences to a world of vital sensations to all lovers of music and performing arts.
