The Black Wizards didn’t exist yet when Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin were on the record players of almost everybody. They could be considered of being the children of the digital generation; however, they seem to have been transported by a time machine. Joana Brito (vocals and guitar), Paulo Ferreira (guitar), João Mendes (bass) and João Lugatte (drums) all express themselves through psychedelic grooves with a certain amount of fuzz. In 2015, Lake Of Fire launched the band to considerably higher status. The release of this first LP confirmed the potential already shown in the EP, Fuzzadelic. Followed by overseas concerts and performing at important festivals comes "What the Fuzz", the band's second LP. The avalanche fades into fancier melodies and more experimentalism. This album took the band to bigger stages and more concerts abroad. The third album "Reflections" is released on August 23rd and confirms what has long been suspected, that The Black Wizards are one of the most promising and hard-working bands of recent times. “Reflections” is a breath of fresh air with just the right dose of salt and even some pepper. Farther away from the stoner and closer to a psychc fused with old-fashioned rock.
